“Today, we go to Aunt Brenda’s house,” the baby
declared when I woke her up this morning.
“No, baby, not today,” I said reminding her. “It’s Thursday.”
“It’s Friday,” she insisted.
“We have one more day ‘til Friday,” Rowan piped in.
“One more?” the baby questioned.
“We go to school.
We come home, eat, take a bath, and go to bed, then it will be Friday,”
she told her younger sister.
“And we’ll go to Aunt Brenda’s house,” the baby reminded
her older sister.
“Yes, then we’ll go to Aunt Brenda’s house,” the elder of
the two assured the younger of the two.
They then promptly got off their respective beds to go
brush their teeth and get ready for the day.
I guess mommys aren’t needed when sisters can explain
things to each other.
