Killing me softly

Jory is still moving so incredibly slow.  And now it’s not just at home doing his chores.  When I picked him up, he was still doing his schoolwork.  How is that possible?  The daycare worker told me he started at 1PM.  She kept him by himself, but when he wasn’t telling her that I said he didn’t have to finish it all at daycare (she didn’t believe him), he was just off into his own other world.

When we got in the car, I asked him why he hadn’t finished his work in the past five hours.  He told me, I said he didn’t have to do it at daycare.  No, I reminded him, that I said if he had so much work that he didn’t finish at daycare that he could finish in the car on the way home.  It didn’t mean for him to be so incredibly slow and goofing off that he didn’t finish it there.  Oh, was the response I got back.  Oh.  Really?

Slow at home, slow at school.  The plot to drive me mad has been amped up.
