Really?! in the mornings

I was walking past Jory's room.

"Do you have underwear on?" I asked, as I saw him pulling on his jeans.

"Oh," he replied, as he started to lower his jeans.

Really?!  How do you forget to put your underwear on?  Your underwear?!
