The things you learn at Sears

Jory was goofing around in Sears, so instead of ranting and raving, I walked off.  I went and stood in line, then of course I was secretly looking for him when out of my peripheral vision I saw him standing behind me, but I continued to say loud enough for him to hear, "Where is Jory?  Where is my son?  Oh well, I guess he wants to stay here."

He jumped out from behind me and said, "Here I am!  You didn't know where I was did you?  Where you going to leave me?"

"I figured you wanted to live in Sears, so I was going to let you do that," I answered.

"Would you have been sad?"

I shrugged my shoulders.  "It was your choice.  The girls and I would have been sad and then we would have gotten a new brother."

"You would have gotten another brother?"

"Yes."

"But I want a brother.  Rowan has a brother."

"Yes, she does.  But if you had a brother there would be a big age difference.  You wouldn't be able to play with him for years."

"That's okay.  I would hold him, give him his bottle.  And I would feed him."

"You would?"

"Yes.  So can I have a brother?"

"We'll see."  We'll see if it God's will for Jack to come home.
