So we had to take my mom to work because she couldn’t
make it to the bus stop in five minutes and because she couldn’t wait another
seven to ten minutes for the next bus to come because it meant she would end up
at work fifteen minutes later, which means she would get off fifteen minutes
later, and she’d be walking to pick the girls up at like 5PM, really earlier,
and obviously the sun goes down at 5 in the summer time, so it was best that I
woke the kids and put them in their carseats in the pjs so Oma wouldn’t have to
walk home in the dark.
On the way back home, I was feeling munchy for McD’s. (Really, is there any place better in the world?) I ordered breakfast for myself and Jory, the
always awesome hotcakes and sausage, and hash browns for the girls, who eat at
school. We got home and couldn’t find
the remote. So we sat on the rug in the
family room in a circle and just sat and ate together. Our own little early morning picnic. It was perfect and Rowan happily proved to me
that maybe, just maybe she was big girl enough to start getting condiments on
her food. Not one licking of the
ketchup. My big girl is getting
bigger. What a great early morning
treat.
