Ashley is my witness. She was on the phone with me when the nice gentleman in Game Stop saw my adorable, matching Christmas dress wearing Irish twins and asked, "Are they twins?" I could have kissed him.
Ashley asked, who he was asking about. The Irish twins of course. The Asian gene is a strong one.
Unfortunately I had to say no, but in two short months I'll be able to say, "Yes, they are twins." Strange to think they'll be three-year-old twins. Where is the time going? How will my Irish twins be three in two months? I can't believe it.
The girls looked beautiful in their dresses though their Oma thought they shouldn't have worn them until the first Sunday in December. She said to me, "They don't have enough Christmas dresses to wear for the month. What will they wear the Sunday after Christmas, if you start putting them in the dresses now?"
Is crack free? What is she talking about? Why would my daughters be wearing Christmas dresses after December 25th? I guess it could happen if we moved to some alternate universe where it wasn't yet the 25th of December. But in the reality we live in, Christmas apparel is put away on the night of December 25th.
When I was packing on Christmas Eve to go get Layla, it never once crossed my mind to take Christmas music with me. We were scheduled to meet on December 28th too late for her to hear Christmas music. Didn't want the poor baby thinking she can listen to Christmas music whenever she wanted to or felt like it?
There are rules to the Christmas game, unfortunately at times Oma pretends like she doesn't know this. Thank goodness for sisters who do. Mona and I were talking and Kayla wanted to buy a Christmas movie for the trio, but Mona told her, "No, we can't buy that because Aunt Yash won't let them watch it." I interjected and said, "That's not true. If we get home early enough on Christmas night they could watch it, but if not you're right they won't be watching it until Christmas time 2011." Mona didn't buy the video, but the most important thing was my beautiful, gorgeous, brilliant, talented sister recognized the rules of the game. I am so in love with her!!!!
There doesn't seem to be enough time to watch all the Christmas movies, listen to all the Christmas albums, read all the Christmas books, but we'll preserve the best we can. I love this most wonderful time of the year!
