And then I don't feel so bad

You know when you wake up at 3AM and decide to do some Christmas cards since you're up already, Detroit 1-8-7 is a great show to write them to. Why?! Why?! Why hasn't ABC ordered the back four for this show? It's so nice to have a police show that isn't all CSI-ey, but solves cases the old fashion way by following the evidence and talking to people. And why is Dana Delaney's new show which sounds like it's going to be all CSI-ey taking 1-8-7 time spot? The world can truly be a cold, cold place. But I digress.

So after a blissful hour of addressing cards and stuffing envelopes with hulu, I turned to Christmas music. If you want some pick me up Christmas music, Point of Grace's Winter Wonderland would not be the cd to put in. I really do need to stop buying Christmas albums just because I've heard of the artist that because that leads to such hits and misses. As PoG sang some newly written Christmas song, I once again thought what a great artist I would make and how my fans would love me because I know how to make a Christmas album.

You don't write and sing a bunch of new songs, no one has ever heard on a Christmas album, particularly your first one. People buy Christmas albums to sing along to or with as they decorate their tree, or drive in their car, or write Christmas cards. My Christmas album would have mostly traditional Christmas songs, then one or two newer songs like Mary, Did You Know or The Chanukah Song. I bought my first country album because Toby Keith knows the correct formula to making not just one, but two Christmas albums.

You might be wondering how could I overcome the voice that wouldn't allow me to make it to the top ten of American Idol, I figure I have two routes to take. One, become a gospel singer. Can't you picture me on stage saying, "It was a silent night," then a "choir"/background vocalists sing, "Silent Night/Holy night." This would totally work. I mean when was the last time you heard Kirk Franklin sing solo. Or I could go with option two become a pro tools/auto tune singer. Do you really need to sing live? What does it mean to sing live anyway? I would be singing and I'm alive so doesn't that technically qualify as singing live? Britney Spears became famous doing option two.

Ahh, the things that come into your mind doing Christmas cards and listening to a not so upbeat Christmas album.
